What is there to do near by the conference?

You may visit Universal CityWalk which is an outdoor promenade outside the gates of Universal Studios. It consists of restaurants, shops, bars and a 19 Cinema movie complex.

If you are staying at the hotel they provide complimentary shuttle service to and from CityWalk daily from in front of the hotel.

The entrance to Universal Studios Hollywood theme park is located inside the CityWalk promenade. The studios is comprised of a 1 hour studio tour, movie themed amusement rides and shows. If you are staying at the hotel, admission to the theme park is best purchased at the concierge desk should you wish to visit as they are one of the cheaper options pricewise. Prices vary depending on the date of visit.

Should you not be interested in any rides yet wish to visit a studio, Warner Brothers offers a 3 hour tour of their studio. It is $69 per person and tours are offered daily, every 30 minutes from 9AM-330PM. You would be taken with a small group on a golf cart type vehicle and driven around the studio, stopping periodically to get off and enter sound stages, prop houses and other facilities. It is a wonderful studio tour for anyone not interested in amusement park rides. It is only a 10 minute drive from the hotel. https://www.wbstudiotour.com/

The hotel also has outside tour companies that pick up here at the hotel and drop off there afterwards. Hollywood Fun Tours offers an excellent 4 hour tour of Hollywood, Beverly Hills and some movie star’s homes. It is a good overall tour of Los Angeles and departs twice daily at either 8:30am or 1:45pm. The cost is $80 per person.

There is also a metro tube station adjacent to the hotel which one could take into Hollywood to the Walk Of Fame and as far as the Santa Monica Beach Pier.

Which airport should I fly into?

If you have a choice, Burbank Airport (BUR) is closer and easier to get to/from. Burbank is only 5 miles away on side streets and takes about 20 minutes to get to the hotel. Los Angeles International (LAX) is approximately 22 miles and the drive can be anywhere from 45-minutes to 1.5 hours depending on time of day and traffic.

 

 

How do I get from the airport to the hotel?

First, the most economical option is Super Shuttle, which is a shared van ride for a special rate of $24 per person from LAX and $15 from Burbank Airport. The shuttle does make other stops along the way so the trip can take anywhere from 1-2 hours from LAX. From BUR the trip can range from 30-45minutes, again depending on the number of other passengers and stops.

Super Shuttle runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be caught outside any luggage claim area. Just look for the Super Shuttle Van signs and you will see a dispatcher standing nearby. Just tell him/her that you are coming to the Sheraton Universal and they will radio for the appropriate van.

Reservations are not required to come from the airport however the hotel can make them for you if you choose. Reservations are required for your return trip and can be made at the Concierge desk no later than the night before your flight.

Also, should you have a few people in your party, you can reserve an Exclusive Shuttle all to yourselves for up to 9 people for a flat rate of $95. The vans would not make any stops along the way and come directly to the hotel. These options would require advanced reservations. From BUR the cost is $70 for an Exclusive Shuttle for up to 9 people.

In order to make advanced reservations with Super Shuttle, the hotel would require the following:

-Name / number of people

-Date of Arrival

-Flight Number / Airline

-Cell number

 

Once they make your reservation, they will give you a confirmation number to give to the Shuttle Dispatcher outside the baggage claim area and he/she will radio the van.

The next option would be to have a pick up in a town car with a driver. The driver would meet the guest at baggage claim with a sign. The rate would be $121.75 from LAX or BUR. For this the transportation company does require a credit card number in advance.

Taxi is another option to consider. Cab fares vary depending on the time of day and traffic. Metered cabs can cost anywhere between $70-$100 for the trip plus gratuity for LAX and about $25-$30 for BUR.

Lastly, UBER would be a better option than a Taxi should your guests utilize that service. Uber should be roughly between $40-$60 from LAX depending on time of day and around $20 from BUR.
