APA COVID-19 Information and Resources
Continually updated by APA for psychologists, health-care workers and the public
The California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) has been continuing to work to support members and the community during these times.
CAMFT has been advocating with BBS, California agencies relevant to MFT practice, and insurance companies to ensure that Telehealth sessions are reimbursed during COVID-19. They published, shared and continue to update their Resources for Members during COVID-19 document on the CAMFT website, complete with Telehealth Q&As and information about small business loans and employment issues.
For pre-licensees, CAMFT has been advocating with CA Board of Behavioral Sciences and the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA) regarding various laws and regulations negatively affecting our pre-licensed members, including statutes for licensing timelines, examination requirements, and supervision issues.
They are also providing free online learning while people are stuck at home:
Free Online Learning! One of the biggest changes we’ve made to directly impact CAMFT members in a positive way is to open up CAMFT’s online learning library and release the content for free!
- Members can now view our recorded workshops for free. This means that CAMFT’s Telehealth workshop is now free for every CAMFT member to watch (pre-licensees—this means you too!)
- You only have to pay for the CE quiz/certificate if you want CEs.
- Feel free to binge-watch these workshops while you’re physically distancing at home. A tip from Dr. El Ghoroury, the Executive Director of CAMFT —try out a workshop for the first 5-10 minutes. If you like it, keep watching and buy the CE certificate if you need it. If you don’t like it, go to another workshop!
We would recommend finding an expert to help you if you’re looking to apply for a loan. Here is the main page for the information.
